Your Vote is your Voice. Make sure it is heard. 

STEP 1: REGISTER TO VOTE

To vote in an election in Richland County, you must be a citizen of the United States, 18 years old, an Ohio resident 30 days prior to the election, and registered 30 days prior to the election with an Ohio County Board of Elections (BOE). Registration can be done online, at the Richland County BOE office, a BMV location, along with other public locations listed here.

STEP 2: CHECK YOUR REGISTRATION

If you have changed your name or address, or have newly moved into Richland County, it is important that you update your registration. To update your name, you need to visit the BOE office or print off a form here. You can also do it at the BMV. If you haven't voted in a few years, it is IMPORTANT to check your registration to confirm that you are still eligible to vote. 

STEP 3: VOTE

With every election there are three ways to cast your vote:

  1. Go to your assigned polling location on election day and cast your ballot. 

  2. Vote during the Early Voting period at the Richland County Board of Elections. 

  3. Request an Absentee ballot be mailed to you.
