Black Angel

Sir Maddox, a medieval knight, returns from the Crusades to find his home rife with sickness and his family gone. As he journeys through this mystical realm he encounters a mysterious and beautiful maiden, who appears to him as he is drowning. Sir Maddox learns that the maiden is being held prisoner by a black knight and in order to free her he must confront her captor, the Black Angel.[1]

"I was heavily supported by angel investors who are interested in female and minority-owned businesses," said Clayborne. "And really, without them, I would not be able to take these essential first steps to get to where I am today."

Still, getting funding for a startup is challenging, especially for Black entrepreneurs and founders. In 2020, the year George Floyd was murdered, Black founders got a record 16% of angel investments, up from 0.5% in 2019. However, in 2021 that figure fell to just 2%, according to research from the Angel Capital Association, which represents individuals and groups of investors.

To make early-stage investments as an angel investor, you must be an "accredited investor," as outlined by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Individuals must have earned income of more than $200,000 (or combined income of $300,000 with a spouse) in each of the prior two years or a net worth exceeding $1,000,000, either alone or with a spouse, excluding the value of their primary residence.

Nisbeth, based in Annapolis, Maryland, first heard Clayborne's pitch about NasaClip at a virtual meeting, hosted by IFEL, that introduced Black startup founders to prospective angel investors. After that pitch, Nisbeth initially invested $7,000. She later invested $10,000 more and became a company advisor.

Looking at the success rate of many startups, "angel investing is risky," Clayborne said. But, she added, "I do think it is a really interesting and powerful way to invest your money that not only brings up that business, but may raise up, you know, communities, values and interests that you have that coincide with what's important in your life."

In 1916 Ruth Anne Dodge described to her daughters a dream in which she was on a rocky shore and through the mist saw a small boat approach. At the front of the boat a beautiful angel held a small bowl and spoke softly, encouraging Mrs. Dodge to take a drink. Twice she refused, the third night she drank, reportedly feeling like a she was transformed into a new and glorious spiritual being. A short time later she died. On her deathbed she told her daughters the angel had given her the water of life, and she now had immortality.

Her daughters commissioned French to create a memorial to Mrs. Dodge based on her description of this dream. The statue was finished in 1920, depicting a winged angel with one arm outstretched and the other holding a vessel from which water flows. You can see the Ruth Anne Dodge Memorial at the top of North Second Street in Council Bluffs, just east of the entrance to Fairview Cemetery.

Ore breccia in outcrop from the South Lakes Glacier occurrence: a the brown breccia matrix is ductilely remobilized sphalerite supporting clasts of silicified black pelite and marble; b larger marble clasts are sharp-edged and deformed. The interpretation is that the breccia-hosted ore was tectonically deformed, rather than beingformed coevally with brecciation, as previously inferred

With less than 1 percent of venture capital going to African American entrepreneurs, a growing number of angel investors who happen to be Black are stepping up to close the existing funding gap, both in the Triangle and nationally.

Buce Black Angel is an easy plant, perfect for beginners. The leaves are typically longer and rounded at the edge with pronounced midribs running down the center. Colors can range from bright green to a dark, almost black, olive drab. It can be grown submerged or immersed, but either way it is extremely slow growing like all Buce. New leaves sprout from long rhizomes which can be propagated by cutting and attached to driftwood and rocks using super glue gel or thread.

"The white nurses decided it was too dangerous and then they quit basically so they went recruiting down in as far as Georgia and those places south and they recruited black women, brought them up to New York trained them to be nurses and they took care of the patients that were here," says Debbie-Ann Paige, a Staten Island-based historian.

The angel extends her right hand, as if inviting a viewer to join her on the prow of the ancient vessel she stands on. In her left, she holds a dish, eternally overflowing into the basin beneath her. Her gaze is fixed westward. Her expression, serene.

She was standing on a rocky shoreline, shrouded in mist. An ancient boat emerged from the fog. In the prow of the boat, a beautiful woman, whom Mrs. Dodge guessed was an angel, stood holding a small bowl overflowing with water.

The Black Angel Cards serve as an oracle and way to inspire and affirm, to access your own intuitive nature and guide you in unfolding the true essence of your life. A black angel is the essence, the symbol of clear seeing inside the mysterious darkness of our lives. It is an ancient symbol of sacred darkness filled with light and wisdom. She is within all of us. 041b061a72
