Roswell, New Mexico - Season 4

In January 2018, The CW ordered the show to pilot, with Julie Plec set to direct.[21] Production companies involved with the pilot included Amblin Television, Bender Brown Productions, CBS Television Studios and Warner Bros. Television. The CW ordered the show to series on May 11, 2018.[22] On April 24, 2019, The CW renewed the series for a second season,[23] which premiered on March 16, 2020.[24] On January 7, 2020, the series was renewed for a third season.[1] On February 3, 2021, ahead of its third season premiere, The CW renewed the series for a fourth season.[3] The third season premiered on July 26, 2021.[2] The fourth season premiered on June 6, 2022.[4] On May 12, 2022, The CW announced that the fourth season would be the last.[5]

Roswell, New Mexico - Season 4

On February 16, 2018, Jeanine Mason was cast in the lead role of Liz Ortecho.[6] In early March, the rest of the cast was filled out, with Nathan Parsons as Max Evans, Lily Cowles as Isobel, Michael Vlamis as Michael Guerin, Tyler Blackburn as Alex Manes, Heather Hemmens as Maria DeLuca, and Michael Trevino as Kyle Valenti. Karan Oberoi was cast in the final series regular role of Noah Bracken on March 27, 2018.[7][8][10] Trevor St. John was cast in a recurring role as Alex's father on March 12, 2018.[9] In April 2019, Amber Midthunder, who played Liz's older sister Rosa in a recurring capacity in the first season, was promoted to the main cast for the second season.[25] In May 2020, Tanner Novlan was cast in the recurring role of Alex's brother, Gregory, first appearing in the tenth episode of the second season. At the end of that year, it was confirmed that he would reprise the role in the third season.[26][27]

Filming for the pilot took place in Albuquerque and Santa Fe, New Mexico.[28] Production on the pilot begin on March 14, 2018,[29][30] and ended on March 30, 2018.[31] The rest of the first-season episodes began filming August 13, 2018, in Las Vegas, New Mexico; and Santa Fe, New Mexico.[32] Filming on the third season began on October 15, 2020.[33] Filming for the fourth season started in August 2021 and was scheduled to finish in January 2022.[34]

While Malex is the IT couple in so many ways, right beside them has always been Liz and Max. And their path to the finale has been littered with all kinds of complications, especially in the latter half of this season.

But they decided to devote just enough time to close it out properly and bring Allie into the frame, which was brilliant for various reasons. The casting is obviously perfection, but Allie has also been looming around this entire season.

Once Michael found out about Alex, he was rightfully only concerned about him, but he spent a lot of time with Clyde earlier in the season. And I thought he and Bonnie were noticeably missing from that final standoff because it would have made sense for them to be there.

It was a dynamic that played out throughout the series, and in this final season, they really went for broke, having them almost get engaged and then break up essentially once Liz was on the mist. It was a lot of drama and angst for the main couple, but not in a way that I found remotely satisfying.

Starting the season with an almost proposal and ending it here was the right move. They have no business getting married now, but at least you can see where the proposal makes sense. Similar to Malex, it's kind of like, why wait anymore?

"Roswell, New Mexico" Season 1 premiered on January 15, 2019, and since then, the show has followed a more or less predictable release schedule. Season 2 started airing on March 16, 2020. Executive producer Julie Plec confirmed on Twitter that the shooting of Season 3 started in October 2020, and the season premiered on July 26, 2021, which gives you a fair idea of the length of the show's production cycle.

It's been known for a while that a fourth season of the show is arriving, seeing as the news was announced as part of The CW's mass renewal news in February 2021 (per Deadline). The new season started shooting in August 2021, and is set to wrap up in January 2022, according to KRWG. Knowing this, you can probably expect "Roswell, New Mexico" Season 4 to premiere sometime around late spring or summer of 2022.

Production on season 4 began back in August 2021, with filming locations for the new season taking place in e Espanola, Moriarty, Bernalillo, Las Vegas, Pecos, Santa Fe, Albuquerque, and the San Felipe and Santo Domingo pueblos in New Mexico. Filming was scheduled to wrap by January 2022.

Another couple, Max (Nathan Parsons) and Liz (Jeanine Mason), ended the season on good terms, albeit at separate ends of the universe. If the show was greenlit for a fifth season, however, their separation would have been more ominous than what we saw.

"There was one moment that we talked about earlier where the console behind Liz might have melted," Hollier recounted. "If someone said, 'You're greenlit for season 5,' that might have been a larger discussion. But I think this is a more fair place to leave the fans."

The fourth (and now final) season of Roswell, New Mexico is set to premiere on The CW on June 6, 2022. Season 4 will consist of 13 episodes in total and is expected to complete its run on August 29, 2022.

The fourth and final season of Roswell, New Mexico begins with a bit of a fast-forward. Five months after Season 3 terror of Mr. Jones, the Pod Squad are starting to settle into their lives. However, many of them experiencing commitment issues -- and new faces are being thrown into the mix.

Additional returns include the third season of What We Do in the Shadows spinoff Wellington Paranormal, premiering with back-to-back episodes on June 22 (9 pm); the second season of Devils on June 30 (8 pm); and new installments of Mysteries Decoded on July 6 (8 pm).

Viewers can watch Roswell, New Mexico season 4, episode 2 on The CW on the date above. The episodes will also be available on Netflix after they have all aired, so watch out for a Netflix announcement in September.

For the most part, everyone on Roswell, New Mexico got a happy ending. (Sure, a couple key players ended up on another planet, but hopefully not forever.) And yet, the season 4 finale wasn't intended to be the series' end.

When the drama was canceled back in May, the writers had just enough time to make what showrunner Chris Hollier calls "slight adjustments" to the final episode. But it still wasn't the ending the writers had imagined for the series as a whole. "This was intended to help launch us to a nice wrap-up of season 5," Hollier says of the finale. "More craziness would've followed."

As for Max (Nathan Parsons) and Liz (Jeanine Mason), they ended the series as an engaged couple, but one that's literally a universe apart after Max (temporarily) returned to Oasis. The final shot of the season, Liz watching him leave, is one Hollier says they were working toward all year, but he does reveal that the couple's ending could've been much darker had the show been renewed. "There was one moment that we talked about earlier where the console behind Liz might have melted," he says. "If someone said, 'You're greenlit for season 5,' that might have been a larger discussion. But I think this is a more fair place to leave the fans."

The Season 4 premiere was a brilliant look at just why we love Roswell, New Mexico. It had everything we want and a little bit more. We got a look at all of our main characters, we got to see who our potential enemies are, and we got drama and some good old-fashioned alien-influenced police work. It was truly an episode that we have been building towards for three seasons and it was amazing. (It was also a little heartbreaking to realize this is the last season premiere we will get.)

For the most part, Dallas spent most of season four trying to follow the pieces and clues his father had left behind. Dallas was trying to understand his father's work while simultaneously trying to figure out what path he should take in his life. In the conclusion, he has finally figured it out. Dallas' path may not be on Earth at all, at least not in the short term. Dallas' decision to join Max's journey to Oasis gives Dallas the chance to better understand the home planet and have a better grasp of what his father had worked so hard for.

Rosa had initially struggled as a teenager. But, when she is revived from the alien pod, Rosa is given another chance at life and ever since strives not to mess it up. She works hard to give herself a better chance and leans into her art to help her find happiness. Rosa eventually leaves Roswell for New York to get a fresh start in life, away from the alien drama and conflicts that surround her life in Roswell. However, when Rosa returns home in season four, she does so with a fresh perspective on her life and a better grasp of her powers. In the end, Rosa returns to New York, having helped her family and knowing that things will be okay for them. 041b061a72
