Salaakhen (lock up) is a 1998 Indian Hindi-language action film directed by Guddu Dhanoa. It stars Sunny Deol and Raveena Tandon in pivotal roles. The film revolves around the story of Vishal Agnihotri, who avenges the death of his father, an honest school teacher who was forced to commit suicide after testifying against a powerful businessman's son in a rape and murder case.

The film begins with the police searching for Vishal, who has killed four prominent personalities of the city. He strikes a deal with a lawyer to prove him innocent in court for Rs.100 million, but then kills him and confesses his crimes. He is then brought before an inquiry committee, where he narrates his backstory.
Vishal's father, Sachidanand Agnihotri, was a respected teacher who was not afraid to stand up for the truth. He witnessed the rape and murder of a young woman by Nagesh, the son of Jaspal Rana, a wealthy and influential man. He decided to testify against him in court, despite the threats and pressure from Rana and his associates. Vishal, who was in love with Neha, tried to dissuade his father from risking his life, but Sachidanand was adamant.
In court, Nagesh's lawyer, Ashok Pradhan, managed to confuse and manipulate Sachidanand with false witnesses and evidence. Sachidanand was also harassed and intimidated by the corrupt police officer Kamble, who was working for Rana. Unable to bear the humiliation and injustice, Sachidanand killed himself in front of the judge.
Vishal, who was imprisoned for assaulting some policemen, escaped from jail and vowed to take revenge on those who destroyed his father's life. He kidnapped Nagesh and killed Pradhan in front of him. He then killed Kamble when he came to rescue Nagesh. He finally tracked down Rana and killed him too.
The film ends with Vishal being sentenced to 3 years to life imprisonment for his actions. He tells the judge that he hopes that people like Rana would not be appointed as ministers in the future, so that people like him would not have to take the law into their own hands.
