WE WON!!!
ISSUE 1 on the August 8 ballot is an attempt by the Republican Legislature to make it much harder, if not impossible, for citizen-led ballot initiatives to change the Ohio Constitution, a right Ohioans have had since 1912. If it passes:

It will increase the threshold for passage of a ballot amendment to 60% from a simple majority vote.

It will increase the burden of signature gathering to a nearly impossible level.

It will eliminate the so-called "cure period", which gives ballot initiative groups ten days to get additional signatures should their initial efforts fall short.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
If the Reproductive Freedom Amendment makes it on the Fall Ballot, this means that 41% of voters can determine whether Ohioans have a right to make their own reproductive choices. And any future ballot initiative, such as Fair Districts, will have an almost impossible hill to climb to make it to the ballot.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE
July 10 is the deadline to register or change your address in order to vote in the August 8 election. For more information, click here or call the Richland County Board of Elections at 419-774-5530 .
EARLY VOTING BEGINS
Early Voting begins July 11 at the Richland County Board of Elections, 1495 W. Longview. 8 AM to 5 PM weekdays only 7/11 - 7/28. Extended hours from 7/31-08/6. No early voting on Monday, 8/7, before the election. For a complete schedule, click here.
ABSENTEE VOTING
To receive an mail-in ballot, you must first file an absentee ballot request form with the Richland County Board of Elections. To print one click here or call 419-774-5530 for one to be mailed to you. Deadline for filing a request form for the August 8 election is August 1.
