Plot summary
The film revolves around Omi Khurana (Kunal Kapoor), a young man who ran away from his native village in Punjab to pursue his London dream. On the run from the gangster, Omi returns to his village, pretending to be a successful London lawyer. He hopes to find some money from his grandfather Daarji (Vinod Nagpal), who owns a famous dhaba (restaurant) known for its signature dish "Chicken Khurana". However, Omi discovers that his grandfather has become senile and has forgotten the secret recipe of the dish. Omi also finds out that his childhood sweetheart Harman (Huma Qureshi) is soon to be married to his cousin Jeet (Rahul Bagga), who is not happy about it either. Omi decides to stay in the village and try to recover the lost recipe of Chicken Khurana, with the help of Harman and his uncle Titu (Rajesh Sharma), who is a freeloader and a former mental patient. Along the way, Omi also reconnects with his family and his roots, and learns some valuable lessons about life, love, and chicken.
